Let’s assume you are a first-time job seeker or a career switcher and want to land an entry-level job or at least get a freelance project that is suited to your skills.

Here are 3 pieces of advice:

1. Look for an internship, ideally a paid one. For example, Monobank (Ukrainian bank) today announced that it offers paid internships for developers, marketers and others.
2. Find a mentor (or even two) and grow under their supervision. The mentor can publicly write a recommendation for you on LinkedIn, prohood.org or another platform, which will increase your chances of finding an entry-level job. And it may also be that the mentor will recommend you as a candidate for an open vacancy to their colleagues in the company.
3. Demonstrate your competence by:
   1) building a pet project/portfolio and showing it to the public;
   2) posting articles (dou.ua / LinkedIn / hashnode.com / Medium.com, your own blog);
   3) making video tutorials.
   Of course, your articles and tutorials should be reviewed by an experienced professional before or after publishing and corrected if needed.
